Tom Dempsey

As director of Smithsonian’s Office of Contracting and Personal Property Management (OCon&PPM), Tom Dempsey oversees policy and operations for the Smithsonian Institution’s contracting, travel, and charge card programs as well as personal property management.  

Dempsey started at OCon&PPM in 2006 as an attorney-advisor handling large, complex, and/or high-profile acquisitions. Prior to joining the Smithsonian, he worked as a trial and appellate attorney in Virginia and Washington, D.C. Tom received a BS and JD from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.
