The Art and Science of Orchids

The Smithsonian Gardens Orchid Collection has over 8,000 specimens from all over the world. It is an invaluable resource for educational programs, exhibitions, and scientific research. Explore a selection of the digitized collections along with art inspired by these beautiful blooms, get up close with online 3D models of orchids, learn five things you may not know about orchids, and find out how to take care of your own orchids.

Smithsonian Gardens and the United States Botanic Garden present the 29th annual orchid exhibition at the United States Botanic Garden Conservatory from February 14 to April 27, 2025.
