Description
This model has a box in the shape of a cube which contains one model of a regular octahedron, two pieces which fit around the octahedron to form a stellated octahedron or stella octangula (to use Kepler's language), and three sets of four triangular pyramids hinged together. These twelve pyramids fit around the points of the octangula to complete the cube. Each set of four may also be arranged to form a regular octahedron congruent to the one inside the stellar octangula. Hence this is a dissection of a cube into a stella octangula and three octahedra.
A mark on the object reads: Cube with (/) 4 Octahedra (2) Stella Octangula. Another mark reads: 764.
