The exhibition highlights the creative ways in which 6 contemporary artists combine the acts of writing with a range of media—including calligraphy, transcriptions of archival materials, graphic designs, installation, and photography—to produce dramatic and highly original artistic statements. The artists include Berni Searle, Fathi Hassan, Willem Boshoff, Ghada Amer, Berry Bickle, and Rachid Koraichi—several of whom exhibited in the 2001 Venice Biennale.
