Selections from the Permanent Collection
June 26, 1980 – August 31, 1981
On view in a changing exhibition of selections from the permanent collection are 450 objects, including sculpture, masks, jewelry, ceremonial costumes, and textiles. Featured objects are from Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Mali, Guinea, Angola, and Cameroon.
The exhibition celebrates the merger of the Museum of African Art with the Smithsonian Institution.
