Etchings by Khalil and sculptures by Nour reflect the artists' African and Islamic heritages in Sudan (the Republic of Sudan). The works by Mohammad Omer Khalil (b. 1936) were inspired by the music of Bob Dylan and the artist's visit to the ancient site of Petra in Jordan. The bronze and steel sculptural works of Amir I. M. Nour (b. 1939) recall his Sudanese environment.
