A bomb falls towards an unseen target as flames from earlier strikes rise in the distance in this cachet of patriotic red and blue by Walter Poppenger of Akron, Ohio.
One letter (2002.2035.56.2) is associated with this cover that was sent under Free Franking from Camp Crowder, Missouri. The sender was a member of the U.S. Army's S.C.R.T.C. Band. Postmarked Camp Crowder, Missouri, August 23, 1942.
