Description
Landscape sketch showing a view of woods in autumn, possibly on the grounds of the artist's estate in Hudson, New York, known as Olana. Brown, rolling terrain in the foreground features stands of trees at left and right that frame a view of a more distant hillside, also covered in trees. Tree canopies are largely green with spots of red, orange, and yellow, implying early autumn. In the background, a stark white sky is visible beneath the canopy.
