Description: This American flag was signed by the flight crew on Flight 81 (formerly Flight 93) on September 11, 2002.

Context: To commemorate the one-year anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the crew aboard United Airlines Flight 81 (formerly Flight 93), traveling from Newark, New Jersey, to San Francisco, California, signed an American flag. Their messages celebrated America’s freedom and remembered the victims.
