    Description

The practice of wearing coins as jewelry began in the ancient world and continues to the present. This ornate necklace is made of United States gold coins.
These $5, $10, and $20 gold coins were legal tender in the United States in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Some of the coins feature Lady Liberty, the allegorical figure representing freedom. Set together into a necklace and enhanced with rings of diamonds, these coins may have been worn by their owner to signify her wealth or express her national pride.
