Summary
This is one of the two ultra-high frequency voice transmitters/receivers flown on the Gemini VIII mission. This equipment provided line-of-sight voice communications between the astronauts and the ground. A high frequency voice transmitter/receiver provided beyond line-of-sight voice communication between the astronauts and the ground. Astronauts Walter Schirra, Jr. and Thomas Stafford flew the three-day Gemini VIII mission in December 1965. Collins Radio made this artifact and NASA transferred it to NASM in 1971.
