    Description

    This Tom Washington basketball card is number 240 in a series of 264 that was manufactured by the Topps Company Inc. for the 1972-1973 American Basketball Association (ABA) season. The front of the card features a posed picture of the New York Nets forward on a green background. The card’s reverse features a small cartoon image illustrating the factoid that “Tom’s nickname is ‘Trooper’,” as well as a short biography and career statistics.
    Tom spent his entire career in the ABA from 1967-1973, as a member of the Pittsburgh Pipers, Minnesota Pipers, Los Angeles Stars, Floridians, and New York Nets, winning a title with the Pipers in 1968. Washington also was an ABA All-Star in 1969, and tled that league in field goal percentage in 1968 and again in 1970.
