Description
Landscape sketch showing a view of a tumultuous cloudy sky at sunset above a distant mountain range--possibly a view of the Catskills looking north from the artist's property near Hudson, New York. The foreground and middle distance are rendered as broad swathes of deep green paint, while, in the background, a purple mountain range rises at right and slowly descends to a low, round peak at center. Above, a group of dark, low-lying clouds dominates the sky while other low, gray clouds and a brightly lit bank of clouds are visible behind them. A sliver of light blue-green sky shines through at center.
