Object Details
Summary
Cookies, candy, nuts, and dried fruit are typical Shuttle-era snack items. Unlike perishable meal foods that have to be dehydrated or irradiated to avoid spoiling, store-bought snack foods are simply repackaged into individual portions without further processing. Despite the plain package, astronauts enjoy having snack foods in their natural form. This item was returned from the STS-27 Space Shuttle mission (Atlantis) in 1988.
