Object Details

Manufacturer

ILC Industries Inc.

Summary

This is a developmental spacesuit that ILC Industries made for NASA and a test. The suit's designation is A7-L, identical to those that the first Apollo astronauts wore on the surface of the Moon. A pressure gauge and oxygen connector have been repositioned, perhaps in an effort redesign the suit to make it more comfortable for the astronauts. No subsequent spacesuits in the museum's collection have similar placements.
NASA Johnson Space Center transferred this suit to the museum after the end of the Apollo program.
