Summary
This spacesuit was worn by Vance Brand, on the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP). The mission, which took place in July 1975, was the last of the Apollo-era missions and first time astronauts from the U.S. space program and cosmonauts from the Soviet space program docked their respective spacecraft and shook hands in space.
The spacesuit was made by the International Latex Corporation with the designation A7-L and weighed approximately 65 pounds. The suit is one of the "800 Series" and contained slight modifications from the A7-L lunar mission suits.
NASA transferred the suit to the Museum in 1976.
