A model to accompany the application for US Patent #203015, "Speaking Telegraph," issued 30 April 1878 to Thomas A. Edison. A wooden base supporting a piece of heavy iron tubing, mounted horizontally and carrying a mica diaphragm to which is attached a steel spring that contacts a point on an adjustable shaft.
