    Summary

This SpaceX Falcon 9/Dragon patch (#2021 of a series of 2500) was flown in space in May 2012 on the COTS (Commercial Orbital Transportation Services) 2 mission. NASA's COTS program aims to develop private means for resupplying the International Space Station. The launch of the Dragon cargo spacecraft aboard a Falcon 9 booster on May 22, 2012, culminated in a successful docking with the International Space Station, the delivery of its cargo, its undocking from the ISS for reentry, and its successful recovery from the Pacific Ocean. As a result, the Falcon 9-Dragon system has been certified for ISS cargo delivery missions.
The space-flown patch was given to the National Air and Space Museum in May 2012 along with a certificate of authenticity.
