    Summary

This is a cloth replica of the Apollo 17 mission patch. Apollo 17, the last lunar mission in the Apollo program, was launched on December 7, 1972, and returned to Earth after a little over twelve days. It was the tenth human flight and the sixth manned lunar landing in the program. Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt explored the Moon, while Ron Evans orbited above. Among other things, Cernan and Schmitt collected a record 109 kilograms of rocks which they brought back to Earth.
This replica was made for commercial sale by an unknown manufacturer.
Mance Clayton donated the patch to the National Collection in 1982.
