Description
This cultivar of an endangered orchid is under threat from many angles. Its native rainforest habitat is being rapidly deforested for settlement, agriculture, logging, and tourism, and the orchid is aggressively collected for horticultural trade. Often, all orchids in a site will be removed, leaving none left to reproduce. Within the last three generations, its population has shrunk by more than 50%.
