Wood exhibit model of the Benoist Airboat single inline pusher engine, two-seat biplane of the St. Petersburg–Tampa Airboat Line which introduced the first commercial, scheduled, fixed-wing passenger service on 01/01/1914 in natural wings and beige fuselage color scheme. With pilot and passenger figures. 1:16 scale. 1938.

Benoist XIV
For its St. Petersburg-Tampa Airboat Line, St. Petersburg purchased a Model XIV from St. Louis aircraft manufacturer Thomas Benoist. The airplane could carry one passenger, who sat next to the pilot in the open cockpit. The Benoist was powered by a Roberts 75-horsepower, 6-cylinder, water-cooled engine.
