    Object Details

    Manufacturer

    J. A. Maurer, Inc.

    Summary

A number of the Project Gemini missions carried Maurer film cameras and these are spare parts for use with that camera. The set includes dark slides, sight rings, handles, tools, and filters. Maurer cameras were used for a variety of scientific photography objectives. The equipment available for these experiments was extensive and included lenses of different focal lengths, special filters, and extra film magazines, which increased the types and amount of photographic work astronauts could do in space.
NASA transferred these artifacts to the Museum in 1976.
