Summary
The Lunar Surface Magnetometer was an instrument used to detect the presence of a magnetic field on the moon and to measure the intensity of the field. The Apollo 16 astronauts used this type magnetometer for their Earth-based training.
NASA transferred it to the Museum in 1975.
