Description (Brief)
This tinted lithograph of “Lieut. It was printed as Plate XXV (sometimes XXXVII) in Volume XII, following page 106, in the "General Report" by Isaac I. The volume was published as part of the "Explorations and Surveys to ascertain the most practicable and economical route for a Railroad from the Mississippi river to the Pacific Ocean," published as a twelve volume set in the mid-1850s to 1860. Volume 12 was printed in 1860 by Thomas H. Ford (1814-1868).
