Description
This tureen from about 1814 to 1830 is part of a decorated dinner service; it measures thirteen inches tall, sixteen and a half inches wide, and ten inches deep. A medium dark blue transfer depicts a view of the Boston almshouse, or home for the poor, which stood on the banks of the Charles River from 1800 to 1825. The lid of the tureen has a rose and leaf medallion border.
