    Description

Defensive end Carl Nassib of the Las Vegas Raiders wore this jersey on September 13, 2021, when he became the first openly gay player to take the field in a regular-season game.
Nassib played multiple sports at Malvern Preparatory School in Malvern, PA before attending Penn State University, where he made the football team as a walk-on. After not playing his first two seasons, Nassib would become a star defender, receiving numerous accolades his Senior Year (2015), named to the All-American team and receiving both the Lombardi (given to college's best lineman or linebacker) and Nagurski-Woodson (given to the Big Ten's Defensive Player of the Year) awards.
Following his senior year, Nassib entered the National Football League, where he played for seven years, taking the field for the Cleveland Browns (2016-2017,) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2017-2018, 2022) and Las Vegas Raiders (2019-2021). In his professional career Nassib had 25.5 sacks and 187 tackles.
Nassib came out as gay before the September 2021 season opener. In the game he sacked quarterback Lamar Jackson in overtime, helping lead the Raiders to a 33–27 victory against the Baltimore Ravens.
