Homage to the Square: Glow

Hirshhorn

The painting contains four different sized squares layered on top of each other. Starting at the front of the painting and moving backward, each square is larger than the one before it. In the forefront is a bright red square. The next square is a muted red color, followed by a bright orange-red square. The last square is orange. The overall size of the painting is four feet squared.
