Summary
This full pressure glove is part of a pair made for the Mark IV High Altitude suit used by the U.S. Navy in the early 1960s, and is considered the forerunner of the Mercury suit and gloves. This particular glove is considered to be the third model of the collection.
It is constructed with an interior bladder of rubber, and an exterior of green nylon, with adjustment straps over the upper hand. The palms are of leather.
NASA transferred this helmet with other early human spaceflight test articles to the museum.
