    Born Independence, Missouri
    Ginger Rogers won the Texas State Charleston Championship at age fourteen and embarked on the vaudeville circuit. By 1930 she had become a Broadway star in Girl Crazy. Hollywood beckoned, and Rogers partnered in ten films with Fred Astaire, bringing a silvery glamour to the Depression era in such movies as Gay Divorcee and Top Hat. Other films included Stage Door and Kitty Foyle, for which she received a Best Actress Oscar in 1940.

    Tras ganar el campeonato estatal de charlestón en Texas a los catorce años, Ginger Rogers se dedicó al vodevil. Para 1930 ya era estrella de Broadway con Girl Crazy. Luego, en Hollywood, fue pareja de Fred Astaire en 10 películas, haciendo brillar el glamour en plena Gran Depresión con películas como Gay Divorcee y Top Hat.
