    Physical Description

    Long narrow reddish brown wood fragment from propeller of 1908 Wright Military Flyer. Paper tag tied to fragment indicating provenance that appears to date from the period the fragment separated from the aircraft, i.e., 1908. Writing only on on one side of tag.

    Summary

    Wooden fragment from one of the propellers of the 1908 Wright Military Flyer. The fragment was separated from the aircraft at the time of the September 17, 1908, crash at Fort Myer, Virginia, which killed Lieutenant Thomas E. Selfridge and severely injured Orville Wright.
