Object Details

Description (Brief)

Leather football autographed by the 1950 Notre Dame football team. The 1950 team started the season ranked number 1 in the country after winning the National Title in 1949. They would eventually drop out of the rankings finishing the season 4-4-1 and losing three major rivalry games against Michigan State, Purdue, and the University of Southern California (USC). The team did feature (and the ball is signed by) important figures including coach Frank Leahy, guard Jim Martin, quarterback Bob Williams, and defensive player Jerry Groom.
