The 1912 football season saw several important rule changes, such as, teams were given 4 downs instead of 3, touchdowns increased from 5 points to 6 points, the field was reduced from 110 yards to 100 yards and 10 yard end zones were added. There were 76 teams that participated in the 1912 season and the champions were the Harvard Crimson.

Princeton would win 22-7 to set up another undefeated matchup against Harvard on November 2, 1912. The Crimson would win that game by a score of 16-6.
