Summary

The films of actress Elissa Landi (1904-1948) were popular in 1920s and 1930s; in 1932, when this photograph was distributed, she appeared in Cecil B. DeMille's The Sign of the Cross (1932). She had been born in Venice, Italy, as Elisabeth Marie Christine Kuhnelt, raised in Austria, and educated in England.
