Dog

Hirshhorn

A bronze sculpture of a dog stands on a low platform and is shown in profile facing left. The texture of the bronze is rough and craggy, resembling a petrified rock. The dog is very thin giving it the appearance of a gaunt stick-like figure. Its head is pointed downward as if sniffing the ground. The position of the dog’s legs creates a sense of movement as if the dog is meandering along.
