Summary
This Lunar Module Descent Stage (LTA-3DR/1) was a LM Test Article. It consists of various items of external and internal test hardware such as tanks, antennae, engine mounts, control panels, and crew equipment. Originally intended for use as the descent stage for LM-6, it was diverted for use as a structural test article with the designation LTA-3 DR. it was later mated with the Ascent stage Of a Test Module (TM-2) for additional testing. Once surplus to mission requirements, in 1976 it was combined with Ascent Stage LTA-3A and transferred for display to the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.
