Landscape sketch showing a view of the Catskill Mountains at sunset, as viewed from or near the artist's property known as Olana. Wooded hills rendered in hues of green and purple overlap one another in the middle distance, while in the background, the northern range of the Catskill Escarpment is streaked with the sunset's golden rays. Atmosphere above suffused in luminous orange light.
