    Tokuzan (died 1837)

    Description

    Clay: soft, grayish. Raku type.
    Glaze: deep green, crackled, with areas of iridescent copper and bronze. Lead glaze.
    Decoration: broadly incised. Two phoenixes.
    Signature. Inscription. Inscribed on unglazed bottom: Bunka juichi inu gogatsu/Hogean/Tokuzan [cipher].
