Summary
This boilerplate of a Command Module was used by the NASA Johnson Space Center Structures and Mechanics Division in center-of-gravity tests, water drop tests, and dye marker tests. Because it was also used for water recovery practice, it had a quick opening hatch and was airtight. It had no instrumentation or wiring. In 1968, this boilerplate was also used for pressurized flammability tests. It was transferred to the Smithsonain in 1978.
