Scope and Contents
Includes print media, pamphlets, scrapbooks, and flyers documenting the numerous performances and activities at the Apollo Theatre. Several of the newsprint advertisements were reprinted in two books including Showtime at the Apollo Theater (1993) by Ted Fox and Uptown: The Story of Harlem's Apollo Theater (1971) by Jack Schiffman. A large portion of the 2014 addendum consisted of materials identified as editorials and handbills which are also included among these materials. Materials are arranged in chronological order.
