Scope and Contents
According to Nuka Moller (April 30, 2003) the photo is from the G.S. Nares Expedition to the Arctic (1975-1976) and was taken in 1875 in Aasiaat (Egedesminde), Greenland. The photo was published in G.S. Nares, Narrative of a voyage to the Polar Sea during 1875-6 in H.M. Ships "Alert" and "Discovery", London: Sampsom Low, Marston, Searle and Rivington (1878).
