According to Groce and Wallace, New-York Historical Society Dictionary of Artists, 1957, George Lehman was a partner in the P. S. Duval lithographing firm. See J. F. Mc Dermott, "De Smet's Illustrator: Father Nicoals Point," Nebraska History, Volume 33, pages 35-40; who says that Father Point was the artist for this view.
