Pipe used at Bear Buttes for prayer by Spotted Crow and Levi White Bull. Pipe given to Vera Herman, July 4, 1949 at ceremony on Porcupine Creek. Spotted Crow fasted and prayed for 3 days at Mato Paha (Bear Butte) also danced Sun Dance later, as token of thankfulness for the Great Spirit saving life of Levi White Bull. White Bull dying at Pine Ridge Hospital when Spotted Crow made vows to pray and dance. White Bull recovered. Pipe - red pipe-stone- porcupine quill decorated stem.
