Scope and Contents

Seated outside dome-shaped bark-covered lodge (prop ?). Baby in cradleboard. Negative made from apparently recently made copy print. Typed on back is: "Charlotte Bawgam wife of Chippewa Indian Chief Charley Bawgam and daughter of Chief Marji-Gesick with her papoose Mon-ee (Mary) Bawgam. R. A. Brotherton, Negaunee, Mich." Blackmore Collection #: carte A9/1217 and Box C/2999. Blackmore collection(British Museum) carte is on Brubaker mount with notation, "Lake Superior Scenery D.C. Brubaker, Publisher, Houghton, Mich." It is possible that Brubaker is the photographer. Notation (handwritten) on back, "Mrs Lo & Little Negee." British Museum stereo # Box C/2999 repeats information on cdv A9/1217.
