"Big Mouth, last living scout. He was old enough to ride a horse and drive stock when the Mescaleros were taken to Fort Sumner in 1863. He scouted with the cavalry both in the Victorio and Geronimo campaigns. Lives at Mescalero, New Mexico. Is blind now. Is over a hundred years old." --E. Ball.
