Scope and Contents
Consists of 11 field journals numbered 1-12 (No. 7 is missing). The journals are fragmentary and incomplete. They are made up of sheets of unlined paper in board note-book covers. Much of this material was copied by Powell and/or scribes in various other manuscripts [See Sub-series 2].
Also included are transcripts of some of the journals made by William Culp Darrah in 1947 (Nos. 1 and 2) and Dan and Catherine Fowler in 1967 (Nos. 4, 5, 9 and 10). These transcripts were published in:
