Ndebele Mother Painting With Child, 1936-1949. The mother is painting rectangles on a hard surface and holding a container of paint. Her child is sitting behind her. She is wearing jewelry and a blanket that is wrapped around her shoulders and fastened with a large safety pin with a ring of keys hanging from it. Photograph by Constance Stuart Larrabee, 1936-1949.
