Scope and Contents

Sotho Woman Grinding Corn, 1941. Photographic image of a woman grinding corn in her homestead. She is using a large stone worn smooth and a smaller rock to grind the corn. Near her are several containers of different sizes on a step. The walls are painted with various geometric designs. There are two shelves attached to the wall with bowls, plates, and bottles placed on it. Photograph by Constance Stuart Larrabee, 19471.
There are two black and white vintage prints of this negative in the Constance Stuart Larrabee Collection. One is 8x10 in. and the other is 4x5 in. EEPA produced an 23 1/2 x 21 study print for reference purposes.
