Transkei Women and Children Eating, 1947. Three women are sitting on the ground, two of them have a baby in their respective laps. They are eating soup out of a large, shallow bowl. They are all dressed similarly: head wraps, jewelry and cloth wrapped around their chest or waist. Photograph by Constance Stuart Larrabee, 1947.
In 1947, Constance Staurt Larrabee visited the Transkei. She was there researching the housing problems in Southern Africa.
There are no prints of this negative in the Constance Stuart Larrabee Collection. EEPA produced an 8x10 study print and 6x6 contact print for reference purposes.
