Scope and Contents
Transkei Women Decorating Children's Faces, 1947. They are all standing in front of a Transkei homestead. One woman, seen in earlier prints, is using her finger to decorate a boys face. Another woman kneels beside the boy and is also using her finger to decorate another child's face. Photograph by Constance Stuart Larrabee, 1947.
In 1947, Constance Staurt Larrabee visited the Transkei. She was there researching the housing problems in Southern Africa.
There are no prints of this negative in the Constance Stuart Larrabee Collection. EEPA produced an 8x10 study print and 6x6 contact print for reference purposes.
