General

CDR copy. Tape Info: Studio recordings of the New Lost City Ramblers, performing old-timey songs obtained from older recordings. Alternative takes of most of the songs, but most takes are incomplete. Each take is given a number, and is presented as a separate track on this CD. Those that are apparently complete are identified as such. (See sheets on front of jewel case, which also have durations and info from original tape boxes.) Willy Poor Boy (take 6) through Old Age Pension Check (take 4) are on fw-asch-10rr-3487 (tracks 1-14); Beware, O Take Care (fragment) through Willy Poor Boy (take 2) (tracks 15-36) are from fw-asch-10rr-3488, and Long Journey Home (take 5) through Black Mountain Blues (take 31) are from fw-asch-10rr-3489. The Archive numbering (and sequence in which they appear on this CD) differs from the sequence in which the tapes were originally recorded. -3487 is labelled on the tape box as "The Ramblers 2;" -3488 is labelled "The Ramblers 1;" and -3489 is labelled as "The Ramblers 6."
